At the Pumpkin Patch (Day 2)

On Sunday, October 12, we went to another orchard. This one had a big pumpkin patch where you could find a pumpkin (and didn't have to dig through a crate) and a lot of apple trees that you could pick your own apples from (and didn't have to just buy them already bagged). This orchard gave Gloria her first introduction to pumpkins all around (not just in a crate), and of course, the camera was out ready to document everything!

"Gloria's first pumpkin!"

She had a great time posing with the pumpkins, touching them and looking all around.

"I'm ready to go buy my pumpkin, and I can carry this one to the car by myself!"

After exploring the pumpkin patch, we looked around at the animals they had. Gloria saw baby goats, chickens, and ducks. If she was a little older, she could've gone in to pet the goats and went down a slide.

"The baby chick says 'cheep cheep.'"

We went into the apple barn and bought some cider and donuts to enjoy while we were there. Gloria even got to ride on a pony outside of the barn.

"Giddy-up!"

After eating our donuts (Gloria had a very small nibble) and enjoying our cider, Gloria and I went on a cow-train. It was a "train" of about 10 old metal barrels that had holes cut out of them, a seat and a seatbelt installed inside, and painted to look like cows.

"We rode in Bessie."

It was pulled by a 4-wheeler and took us all around the orchard, going fast, over bumps, around corners, through the trees. All the while, a dog (who must belong to the orchard owners) ran right alongside the 4-wheeler, barking at and trying to get the tires. Gloria had a blast on the train. She enjoyed feeling the wind on her face and going over the bumps.

"Super fun!"

When we got back to where Rob was waiting, I told him that Gloria is probably going to be his rollercoaster partner when she is older while I wait for them at the end.

"We had a fun time at the pumpkin patch!"
