Summer Fun!

Gloria loves going outside! She likes when Rob takes her on walks through the woods to look for animals. She tells him "shh" so they don't scare the deer. She likes to walk up the driveway to get the mail out of the mailbox. She wants to jump on the posts, pick up rocks, find caterpillars, bump in her little red car, sweep with the broom, sit down, stand up, and run around.

We got a sandbox for her from some friends that April babysits for. Gloria LOVES playing in the sandbox. She likes to bury her sandtruck, dig with her shovels, pick out the little stones, and hide her hands under the sand.

"Mommy said I was too big, but I told her I wasn't!"

"It's so much fun outside!"

"I like climbing on rocks."

I bought Gloria a picnic table at a mom's sale that I went to recently. She likes to climb on and off of the benches.

"My new picnic table. Maybe sometime I can eat out here!"


"A caterpillar! I like when Mommy or Daddy picks them up for me so I can pet them and then we put them on a tree."

"It's crawling up my arm!"

"I like to "broom" as I call it. I make Mommy and Daddy sweep with me too!"

Big Girl Gloria

I bought a potty seat for Gloria on Saturday at a mom's sale in Grand Rapids. It's one that you set on the big toilet to make the hole smaller. We had put her on the toilet before, always holding on to her so she didn't slip inside. She wanted to sit on her new seat before her bath that night but was a little scared. We held on to her and then let go and she was sitting there all by herself!

"I'm not so sure about this."

Yesterday she was acting like she was about to go to the bathroom and I asked her if she needed to go potty. She pointed to her diaper and ran into the bathroom. Rob put the seat on, took off her clothes and diaper, and set her on the toilet. A few seconds later...Gloria went pee-pee!!! I ran in the bathroom and we clapped for her and told her she did such a good job. She helped to close the toilet and flush. It might have been a fluke, but it was a good fluke. She was very happy afterward, dancing and bouncing around the bathroom!

A year ago

Gloria was just as cute a year ago as she is today!

Our biker babe(y)

Ask her where Daddy's motorcycle is and Gloria will take you right to it. Ask her how to beep the horn and Gloria will show you the button. Ask her where the helmet is and she'll point to it. Ask her how you wear a helmet and she'll pat her head. Yes, our baby is a motorcycle-rider wannabe.

"Daddy's helmet is a bit too big for me."
