Gloria was just as cute a year ago as she is today!

Our biker babe(y)

Ask her where Daddy's motorcycle is and Gloria will take you right to it. Ask her how to beep the horn and Gloria will show you the button. Ask her where the helmet is and she'll point to it. Ask her how you wear a helmet and she'll pat her head. Yes, our baby is a motorcycle-rider wannabe.

"Daddy's helmet is a bit too big for me."

"I'm ready for the road!"

"It's so fun sitting on Daddy's bike and beeping the horn."

"Come on! Let's go!"

Playing at the park

"I love the park!"
4-15-09

Gloria loves playing at one of the parks near our house. The play structure is the perfect size for toddlers and big kids as well. She has no problem climbing up the stairs and going down the slides and running across the bridges. We do go up on the toy with her, but she doesn't need any help going down the slides. She'll either sit down and go on her bottom, or flip around and go on her tummy. Gloria will go down ALL of the slides from the tall curly ones to the enclosed tunnel ones to the small straight ones. There is no slide that she's met that she won't go down. She sort of likes the swings. Sometimes she'll swing for a few minutes, other times it's a few seconds. She is still trying to master sitting back in the swing instead of leaning forward to the front.

"Swingin' in the sun!"

"Whee! Let's do it again!"

Everyone loves Gloria - especially little girls.
It seems like she's always making friends when we go to the park!

"Peek-a-boo! I'm playing the musical bars. You shake and bang them and they make different pitches."

"Can we come back to the park again soon?"

Easter at Grandpa's

After finding eggs at Grammy's house on Easter morning, Gloria, Rob, and I got ready to go to church.

"In my Easter dress - front and back!"

It was Gloria's first time going to church. Unfortunately it was right during what should have been her nap time. We were prepared to go into the nursery or sit in the fellowship hall, but we didn't have to. After the choir sang their first songs, Gloria was closing her eyes. She laid her head on Rob's shoulder and there she slept until the service was over. She slept through the singing, the praying, and the preaching!

Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa H.'s house to eat and play. Great-Grandma H. was there along with Auntie April, Zach, Uncle Keith, Betty, Aunt Karen, Heather, Adam, and Ami.

"Yum! Easter dinner tastes good!"

Great-Grandma H. had brought Easter baskets and eggs for Ami and Gloria to find. They both were very good at it. Gloria sat down and opened up each egg, looking for puffs (since she had found them earlier at Grammy's house.) I slipped a few Cheerios in some of them for her.

"We're going on an egg hunt."

"I found one!"

Heather brought baskets for Ami and Gloria. Gloria's basket had stickers, some snacks, chalk, and a very cool cup with a straw. Great-Grandma brought Ami and Gloria some sunglasses and a light-up toy.

Gloria loves her "magic wand". She likes to make it light up and touch people with it!

Our movie star!
(Those are stickers, from her basket, on her face.)

And here's Ami with his rockstar glasses!

16 months already!

Taking the idea from cousin Ami:

What are some of your favorite foods? The better question is "what are some of your least favorite foods?" Then I can answer - NOTHING! I love food! I love everything!

What did you eat for breakfast today? I had a pancake, two sausages, and some apple yogurt with milk to drink.

What's your favorite thing to do? My favorite things to do are play outside and eat. Taking a bath is fun too!

What is your bedtime routine? Daddy puts my jammies on around 7:30-7:45. Then we feed the fish and Mommy brushes my teeth. Daddy puts me in my sleep bag, puts my head on his pillow, and then he reads 3 books to me and Kittie. After that, either Daddy or Mommy will read me one more book in the rocking chair in my room, rock me for a few minutes and put me in my crib. Nighty-night!

How long do you sleep at night? I sleep for 11-12 hours! From 8:30 to 7:30-8am is my sleepy time. If I sleep past 7:45 then I wake up very happy. Before 7:45 then I usually wake up crying.

Do you like to take a nap? Eh, sometimes. I fuss sometimes after Mommy reads me some books, but that just means I'm tired. It's hard to fall asleep when there is so much fun stuff to do!

How long do you usually sleep for when you take a nap? Usually? Well on average I probably sleep about 40 minutes. Sometimes, like yesterday, I nap for 30 minutes. But other days I can sleep for almost 2 hours, though that's rare.

What did you do last night? I went to the zoo with Mommy, Daddy, and Grammy! We saw the new monkey exhibit, the new lemurs, and I got to go in the petting zoo for the first time! We even ate supper at the zoo!

What is your favorite stuffed animal? Kittie!

Do you help Mommy or Daddy around the house? Yes! I can swiffer, vacuum, use a screwdriver, feed the birds, and throw away dirties that I find on the floor.

"I can even mow the lawn."

What do you like to do with Daddy? I like to chase Daddy around the living room and then have him chase me. He makes me laugh! I like to sit on Daddy's motorcycle and honk the horn. Daddy and I get the mail together, feed the birds, and read lots of books. I like to talk to Poppa on the computer with Daddy, too.

What are you doing this weekend? We're going to Aunt Karen's house to see my cousin Carson! It's going to be a big party. Watch out - Ami, Carson, and I are going to make some trouble :)
